The Marson RN-1 Thread-Setter Tool (39300) is a professional-grade manual tool designed for the precise installation of rivet nuts and threaded inserts in materials where access to the reverse side is limited. Its forged, heat-treated steel upper handle and precision die-cast aluminum alloy body provide the strength and stability required for repeated fastening work. A patented fulcrum pin mechanism increases leverage to reduce the physical effort needed during installation, while the adjustable stroke system supports consistent insert compression. Suitable for automotive repair, construction, fabrication, maintenance, and general assembly, the tool creates secure threaded attachment points without requiring welding or powered equipment.Key Features and Benefits: Quick-Change Mandrel System: Allows users to switch between compatible rivet nut and threaded insert sizes efficiently. Adjustable Stroke Control: Positive-stop mechanism regulates setting depth to help prevent over-compression and fastener damage. High-Leverage Operation: Long handles and a patented fulcrum pin reduce the manual force required to install threaded inserts. Comfortable Handling: Ergonomic grips and balanced construction help minimize fatigue during repetitive fastening tasks. Professional-Grade Construction: Heat-treated steel and high-strength aluminum alloy components support dependable use in demanding environments. Blind-Side Installation: Creates threaded mounting points when the back of the workpiece cannot be accessed.Specifications: Product Name: Marson RN-1 Thread-Setter Tool (39300) Model Number: 39300 Tool Type: Manual rivet nut and threaded insert setter Tool Capacity: Installs compatible steel inserts up to 1/4-20 and 6mm Included Mandrel and Nosepiece Sizes: #8-32, #10-24, and #10-32 Body Material: High-strength die-cast aluminum alloy Upper Handle Material: Forged, heat-treated steel Stroke Adjustment: Adjustable positive-stop locking system Operation Type: Manual lever action Product Weight: 1.2 lb Package Contents: One Marson RN-1 Thread-Setter, three mandrel and nosepiece sets, and one service wrenchHow to Use: Prepare the Mounting Hole: Drill a correctly sized hole according to the specifications of the rivet nut being installed, then remove any burrs or debris. Select the Installation Hardware: Choose the mandrel and nosepiece that match the thread size of the rivet nut. Install the Nosepiece: Secure the selected nosepiece into the tool body using the supplied service wrench. Attach the Mandrel: Thread the corresponding mandrel into the tools adjustment knob assembly. Load the Rivet Nut: Screw the insert onto the mandrel until its flange rests against the nosepiece. Adjust the Stroke: Rotate the adjustment knob to establish the required compression distance, then tighten the lock nut to retain the setting. Position the Insert: Place the rivet nut fully into the prepared hole with its flange seated against the workpiece. Set the Fastener: Squeeze the handles together firmly to collapse the insert body against the reverse side of the material. Check the Installation: Confirm that the insert is securely seated, properly aligned, and unable to rotate inside the hole. Release the Tool: Open the handles fully and rotate the mandrel knob to unthread the tool from the installed rivet nut.Benefits of Using Marson RN-1 Thread-Setter Tool (39300): Creates Threads in Thin Materials: Provides secure thread engagement where the workpiece is too thin for conventional tapping. Promotes Consistent Results: Adjustable stroke control helps maintain uniform compression across repeated insert installations. Reduces Equipment Requirements: Manual operation eliminates the need for pneumatic systems, electrical power, or welding equipment. Improves Installation Control: Lever-operated action allows users to regulate the force applied during the setting process. Supports Restricted-Area Work: Compact hand-tool design is suitable for automotive panels, enclosures, tubing, and confined assemblies. Enables Removable Attachments: Creates permanent threaded anchors that allow components to be bolted, removed, and reinstalled.Features: Integrated Component Storage: Threaded holes on the tool provide convenient storage for compatible spare nosepieces. Lightweight Structural Body: Die-cast aluminum alloy construction maintains rigidity while limiting overall tool weight. Mechanical Advantage System: Specialized pivot geometry improves force transfer during handle compression. Expandable Tool Compatibility: Accepts optional mandrels and nosepieces for additional supported thread sizes. Locking Stroke Setting: Positive-stop mechanism retains the selected adjustment throughout repetitive installation cycles. Serviceable Head Assembly: Interchangeable components can be removed and installed using the supplied wrench.
